Ground Moving
- When moving internationally, it is standard practice to secure the furniture with a fixing film against possible weather and door opening. Valuable or antique furniture and other matching furnishings are first wrapped in a suitable type of bubble wrap and then secured with a fixing film before moving. Furniture shall be wrapped with moving blankets on the vehicle to prevent damage. The fixing foil on the back of the packed furniture will also ensure that the individual rear parts of the furniture pieces stick together so that they do not move during the move. Furthermore, in view of the longer driving time of the vehicle, the individual pieces of furniture are further fixed to the walls of the vehicle with straps as required.
- The packing of individual household goods, especially fragile items (glassware, china), is made more thorough with regard to the length of the transport time.
Moving by sea container - FCL
- A very specific packaging method is required for this mode of transport. The packing must take into account the changes in temperature and humidity inside the container as it passes through the different geographical zones, as well as the weather at sea. The air temperature inside the container can exceed 60 degrees. At the same time, the humidity inside the container varies widely.
- In extreme cases, so-called container rain can occur. Therefore, furnishings and items for sea container transport always require special packaging – bags with moisture absorbers suspended in the container space ensure that this unpleasant phenomenon is reduced.
- Individual, professionally packed larger or heavier pieces of furniture or protective boxes for fragile items are anchored separately inside the container by lashing lugs. If the entire volume of the container is not used, a safety net is used to secure the stored objects and cartons at the end of the loading into the container.
Moving by Sea Cargo - LCL
- Usually we use fumigated all-wood crates or crates with partial use of plywood on the crate walls, in which the items to be moved are placed packed as for transport in a container, secured against possible movement outside the crate and before closing the top lid we use a standard thick-walled foil over the entire top surface of the crate as protection against possible rain during handling outside the container.
- For this packing, crates of 1.5 to a maximum of 8 cubic metres are used.
- All crates are suitable for handling with loading pallet trucks.
Moving by Air Cargo
- Air cargo is used for the fast transport of moving goods (personal belongings, but also bicycles). Packed items in boxes or crates are placed on a lightweight, usually paper, pallet and a solid cardboard package is created, which also serves as protection during airport handling and is secured with PVC straps. The entire pallet shipment is secured against weather conditions by wrapping it with black fixing foil. If the shipment is loaded on the plane in Prague, the transport takes about 3-5 days.
- If the shipment is large in volume and cannot be loaded on the plane in the Czech Republic, it is transported in trucks to the nearest airport (Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels), from where it is flown by cargo special to the destination. The transport time is thus extended by approximately 1-2 days. Alternatively, a standardised metal air container can be used for larger consignments, which simplifies the transport.
